COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Martina D. Chavez, 68, of Calumet Park, Ill., died at 10:15 a.m. Friday (Feb. l, 1974) at the St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, Ill. She was born Nov. 11, 1905 in Gto., Mexico, daughter of John Delgado and Francisca Gaimez. She was married to Elias Chavez April 6, 1923, who survives. Other survivors include, two sons, Pete Chavez of Kingman and Serafin (Surf) Chavez of Calumet Park; two brothers, Ray Delgado of Maple Island, Minn., and Joseph Delgado of Tuscon, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Cruz of Alsip, Ill.; and several grandchildren. She was a member of St. Isadore Catholic Church in Blue Island and a resident of the Chicago area since 1947. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Donatus Catholic Church in Blue Island. Graveside services will be at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Cemetery with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements. The Rev. Donald Vernon will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the Lucas Funeral Home in Calumet Park. - jlr

  Covington—Mrs. Martina D. Chavez, 68, of Calumet Park, Ill., died at 10:15 a.m. Friday (Feb. 1, 1974) at the St. Francis hospital in Blue Island, Ill.
