John Cheney, of Scott's Prairie committed suicide by hanging at the residence of his father on New Years Day (Jan 30, 1879). He was formerly a citizen of Hillsboro and his neighbors respected him as an honorable upright citizens. A few years ago, a sister committed suicide in about the same manner. kbz
