Lee C. CHILDERS, the father of Mrs. Will SIMMS died unexpectedly at the Masonic Home in Franklin on Wednesday of last week at midnight. He had been in good health on the previous Sunday, his daughter, Mrs. Crowder, took him on a trip to Louisville which he enjoyed very much, and on his return made arrangements to be in Yeddo, his former home for Old Settlers Reunion. On Wednesday some workmen were repairing some steps at the home and in the evening Mr. Childers was picking up the rubbish when he suffered an apopletic stroke. He did not regain consciousness and died as noted above. Funeral services at the ME Centennial Church at Yeddo on Saturday were attended by the Simms family. Mr. Childers had reached the age of 82. His wife preceded him in death and he is survived by four children: Mrs. Louise HUTTS, John CHILDERRS, Mrs. Simms and Mrs. May CROWDER. One son, Richard, died five years ago.
