Hoopeston -- Leroy K. Childers, 63, of St. Paul Minn, a former Hoopeston resident died about 4 a.m. Friday, April 14 1972 at his home. Born July 7, 1908 in Pine village, Ind he was the son of John w. and Dessie Childers. He graduated form Hoopeston High in 1925 and for sevearl years he was editor of the Rural Progress Magazine. Survivors include two sons, John H Jack and Leroy Jr. both of Chicago, his parents of Hoopeston; a brother, Farris of Catlin and 5 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown Indiana with Rev. Doyle Copeland officiating. Burial in Centennial Cemetery north of Kingman Ind. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Monday.

Waynetown - Leroy K. Childers, 63, native of Pine Village and former editor of the Rural Progress Farm Magazine died Friday morning at his home in St. Paul, Minn. He was born on July 7, 1908, a son of John W. and Dessa Childers. Survivors include the parents, two sons, John H. "Jack" and Leroy Jr. both of Chicago; a brother, Faris of Catlin, Ill and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Servies-Thomas Funral Home here with Rev. Doyle Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery north of Kingman. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Monday.
