Mrs. Blanche Christenberry, 79, of 702 S. McDonald, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 1976) at her home. She had been ill several years. Born Aug. 10, 1896 in Independence, she was the daughter of William Thomas and Lydia Ann Sawyer Reynolds. She had moved to Attica 45 years ago. She was married to Frank Harper in Williamsport. He died on June 16, 1946. On Apr. 18, 1949, in Attica, she was married to Alvin Christenberry, who died July 12, 1975. Mrs. Christenberry had attended school at Independence and had been a cook at various restaurants in Attica. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Attica. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William (Florence) Poet and Mrs. Willis (Iva) Lashbrook, both of Carbon, and Mrs. William (Glenna) Best of Attica four stepsons, William of Winthrop, Alvin Jr. of Attica Route 4, Wayne of Lafayette, and James in New York; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Gustus of Attica Route 1; 30 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A son and three daughters preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p. m. EST Saturday in the Dale Maus Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Friends will be received after 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.--waw
