Mellott - Lloyd W. Clapp, 60, a farmer near Mellott the last 32 years, died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he was taken Sunday afternoon after suffering a heart attack while trying to get his car out of a snowdrift 1 1/2 miles northwest of here. A son of Elmer and Mae DeMoss Clapp, he was born Dec. 9, 1907 at Danville, Ill. He was married June 26, 1933 to Opal Beeth, who died in April, 1957. On May 31, 1958 he was wed to M. Lorain Snider, of Danville. Surviving are his wife; his father, in Danville; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Patsy) Furr of Mellott; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Hedges of St. Joseph, Ill., Mrs. Earl Webb of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Sherman Worley of Hoopeston, Ill.; two brothers, Ralph and Harlan Clapp of Danville, and three grandchildren. Four brothers and two sisters are deceased. Mr. Clapp was a member here of New Antioch Christian Church. Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Harold Dodson of Lebanon will officiate, with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
