Virginia Lee Clark, 69, of Lafayette, died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in the Indiana Veterans Home. Born October 12, 1930 in Chicago, she moved to Attica in 1942 and was a 1947 graduate of Attica High school. She had resided in Lafayette since 1955. After graduating high school, she was a linotype operator for the Attica Ledger. From 1954 to 1978, she worked at Purdue University, traveling to South America for 18 months on a special project in Brazil. She later worked for Landis-Gyr, retiring in 1993. From 1950 to 1953, she served in the U. S. Women’s Army Corps and was stationed at Fort Holabird in Baltimore, Md. She was a member of Pilot Club, Junior Women, and Women Veterans. She was an active member of Business and Professional Women, she held all district level offices and served on the state board. In 1990, the Lafayette chapter voted her their Woman of the Year. Surviving, are: two nieces, Nancy Beck and Julie Johnson, both of Attica and a nephew, Richard Brown of Shadeland. Visitation was Tuesday from noon until memorial service at 1 at Hippensteel Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. R.
