Attica – Arthur H. “Dutch” Clawson, Sr 102 of 1105 S. Perry St died at 2:06 a.m. Monday Sept 3, 2001 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He had been hospitalized one day.  Mr. Clawson was a self-employed mechanic in Attica. He was a pioneer aircraft builder and a self-taught pilot in 1920s.  He became a licensed pilot in the 1930s and was a founding member of the Attica Glider Club and Attica Flying Club. He last piloted an airplane on his 100th birthday in 1998.  Born Dec 3, 1898 in Rob Roy, he was educated there. He married Lorena M. Wilson on Sept 12, 1920 in Attica. She died Feb 1, 1982.  Mr. Clawson was a member of Modern Woodman Lodge. Surviving is a son, Charles Dale Clawson (wife: Betty) and a brother, Charles Clawson (wife: Josephine) both of Attica.
