Centralia, Ill – Charles Robert Clawson, 20 of Danville, Ill drowned while swimming in a swollen creek near here Tuesday. The body was recovered three hours later. Clawson, crippled by polio and rheumatic fever, plunged into the water and disappeared according to Norman Thouvenine, 13, his companion whom Clawson was visiting here.
