Marshall Ramsey Clawson, age 88, a life resident of Covington and community died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday Oct 24 (1961) at his home at 1122 3rd Street. He had been in ill health for the past 5 years and seriously ill 6 months. Mr. Clawson was born Sept 17, 1873 in Fountain County, son of George S. and Mary A. Muma. He was married to Kate Ann Helms Feb 21, 1901. He had been employed by the Wabash & NY Central RRs. He is survived by 7 children: Mrs. Ada French, Jacksonville, Fl; George, Millard & Frank Clawson of Covington; Willard of Danville, Il; John of ElMonte, Calif and Mrs. Ida Warrick of Brownsburg; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one brother, William Clawson of Rob Roy. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and sisters and one son. The body is at Bodine & Shelby here where friends may call after 7 o'clock tonight, Oct 25. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. Roger James pastor of the First Church of Christ, 5th St, will officiate and burial in Mt. Hope.
