Noble P. Clawson, 83, of Independence, died Monday (June 22, 1970) at Alward Nursing Home where he had been a patient one week. He had been in failing health for 11 years. Born north of Independence in Warren County, June 21, 1887, he was the son of Phineas and Emoline Melvin Clawson. He was married Aug. 25, 1907, in Attica to Ocea Yater. Mr. Clawson was a life resident of Warren County and was owner and operator of the Clawson Feed Mill on Independence since 1932. He retired ten years ago. Previous to owning the feed mill, he had been farmer in Warren County. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 455 F and AM of Greenhill and was a recipient of a 50 year award. Surviving besides the widow are three sons, Eugene of Lafayette, Gerald and Delmar, both of Attica Route 3; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Flynn of Attica Route 3 and Mrs. Doris Reynolds of Valparaiso; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services Wednesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home. Burial in Independence Cemetery.--waw
