Attica – Florence Elizabeth Ault Clawson, 69, of Rt 2, Attica died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday in her home. Born in Warren Township, Warren County on Dec 9, 1921, she was a life-long resident. She graduated from Williamsport HS in 1938. She married V. Cash Clawson on Oct 26, 1940 in Williamsport and he survives. Mrs. Clawson worked in the Warren County courthouse for 31 years.  She was Warren County assessor for 20 years, retiring Dec 31, 1990. She also had served two terms as county auditor and three years as deputy clerk.  She had worked for the extension office several years and as deputy assessor for Warren County Farm Bureau Insurance. At the time of her death, she was vice chairwoman for the Warren County Republican Party. Mrs. Clawson was a member of the Federation of Republican Women and past president of Warren County Republican Women. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 162 and past matron of Rockydale Chapter 111.  She was named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Gov. Otis Bowen and was a past Honoree of the Year by the Federation of Republican Women. Also surviving is a son, John C. Clawson of Farmington NM. - kbz
