Madeline "Madge" Claypool, 79, Hubbard Trail Apartments, Rossville, Ill., died at 10:09 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, shortly after arrival at Lakeview Medical Center. She was born Oct. 13, 1906, in Alvin, the daughter of Charles and Jessie Price Stump. She was married April 11, 1931, to William Roy Claypool, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1947. She had lived in the Rossville area all her life. She had owned and worked in several restaurants in the Rossville and Bismarck areas. She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers. She was a member of the Rossville Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Brechter (Viola) Henke, Milford and Mrs. Clarence (Sharon) Drennan, Rossville; a son, Larry, Rossville; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Riggs, Danville, and Mrs. Bill (Betty) Tuggle, Route 3, Danville; four brothers, Alfred Stump and Tubby Stump, both of Rossville; Scotty Stump, Frankfort, and Bill Stump, Williamsport; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers, a sister, a grandson and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rossville Church of Christ with George McCarty officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Alvin. Morrison Funeral Home, Bismarck, was in charge of arrangements.
