Attica - Kirby Clendenen, 88, died in the Community Hospital at Williamsport Wednesday night at 10:30 following a short illness. He was born July 17, 1891 in Brown County, and moved to Attica in 1920. A retired farmer, he formerly worked for the Harrison Steel Casting Co in Attica . He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church and resided at the Woodland Nursing Center in Attica the past several years. He was married to Emma Malissa Scott Jan 20, 1915 in Champaign, Ill. She preceded him in death Nov 23, 1952. Survivors are 4 sons: Vernon L. of Evansville; Harold Eugene of Rt 1, West Point; Junior Richard of Sheldon, Ill; and Robert Lee of Monticello; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy Marie) Schnelle of Attica and Mrs. May Rosella Howard of Crawfordsville; 23 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Four other children preceded him in death. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Homme here with Mr. Donald Denison officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Visiting will be Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. - typed by kbz
