Veedersburg, Ind. - Franklin McKinley Clift, 66, a retired railroad employe, died yesterday (Sept. 29, 1966) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. He had been a patient there since Aug. 28. Born Sept. 8, 1900, in Montgomery County, he was the son of John H. and Mary Dye Clift. He was married to Margaret Byers, who died. Survivors include a son, Malcolm of Veedersburg; a brother, Charles of Veedersburg; and four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hoover, Mrs. Esther Cowan and Mrs. Florence Grimes, all of Veedersburg, and Mrs. Laura Zoellick of Tilton. The body is at the J. Fred Parham Funeral Home. Arrangements are incomplete. Veedersburg - Franklin McKinley Clift, 66, of Veedersburg died Thursday evening at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since Aug., 28. He was a retired railroad employe. A Montgomery County native, Mr. Clift was born Sept. 8, 1900, to John H. and Mary Dye Clift. He was married to Margaret Byers, who preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Malcom of Veedersburg; a brother, Charles of Veedersburg and four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hoover, Mrs. Esther Cowan, and Mrs. Florence Grimes, all of Veedersburg, and Mrs. Laura Zoellick of Tilton, Ill. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body was taken to the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Veedersburg - Funeral rites for Franklin McKinley Clift, 66, who died Thursday, are announced for 2 p.m. Sunday at Parham Funeral Home with Rev. Ivan Steed officiating. Burial will be at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday.
