Veedersburg - William Coats, 71, died at his home near here Tuesday at 9 p.m. Death resulted from a heart ailment. He had been seriouly ill for several months. He was a lifelong resident of the community and a prominent farmer. He was a member of the Veedersburg Christian Church. Mr. Coats was born Aug 24, 1879, the son of Charles and Olive Campbell Coats. He married twice, first to Edna Glascock who passed away and later to Verita Stockdale who survives. Surviving besides the widow are five sons, Charle and Eugene of Indianapolis; Francis of Veedersburg; George of Danville and William of Waynetown; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Ray of Rochester; and a brother, James Coats of Attica. Funeral services will be at the family home near Veedersburg Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.E. Smith of Danville, Ill will be in charge of services. Burial in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown.
