Myra (Young) Coffing, 87, 370 N. State Road 341, Veedersburg, died in Covington Manor Nursing Center at 3:30 a. m. Friday, March 31, 2000. She was born December 31, 1912 in Covington, the daughter of Maurice and Blanche Claypool Young. She married David N. Coffing July 4, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1978. She had lived in the rural Veedersburg area since 1958. She was a graduate of Covington High School in 1930. She helped with the various duties of farming with her husband on the Coffing farm. She was a member of the Newtown Community Church and the Newtown Community Church Women's Group. Survivors include: a daughter Mary Ann Martin, Newtown; three grandsons, Doug (Marilyn) Martin, Tom Martin, and Scott Martin; a granddaughter, Julie (Chris) Shoaf; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and five sisters. Funeral services were at 2:30 p. m. Sunday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Phil Crubaugh officiating. Burial was in Newtown Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Newtown Community Church or the Newtown Cemetery Association.

[1] Actually her name was Ada Myra. Ada came from her father's brother (Ernest Adelbert "Ade" Young). Myra came from Myra Myers, a family friend in Fountain County, Indiana.
