Kingman - Joseph H Coffing of rural Kingman passed away at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec 14, 2009 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana . He was born Feb 29, 1920 in Fountain County, the son of the late John and Hope Cook Coffing. He married Sylvia Abernathy on Jan 2, 1941 in Ky. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Rita (Fred) Paxton of Veedersburg; two sons, Roger (Patti) coffing of Covington and Greg (Lori) Coffing of Kingman; 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two brothers, John (Shirley) Coffing of Kingman and Robert (Barbara) Coffing of Covington. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Penny Coffing and three sisters, Doris, Lois and Maxine. Joseph owned and operated the Coffing Brothers Orchard south of Covington. He was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ south of Covington. Joseph enjoyed flying and fishing. There will be no services. Per Joseph's wishes cremation was accorded. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga is in charge of arrangements.
