MELLOTT - Clarence E. Coffman, 78, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital after a lingering illness, it was reported here. He was the brother of Russell Coffman, resident of the Mellott community. An Army veteran, the deceased served in France and Germany during World War I. Other survivors include the widow; three sons, Richard W. and Jerry Lee of Lafayette, and Robert of Spring Lake, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Shepherd of Lafayette, and Mrs. C. M. Bennett of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; another brother, Henry Coffman of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. - jlr
