Linden - Mrs. Genrose Coffman, 70, a resident of this community the last 50 years, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette, where she had been a patient four weeks. She had been ill a year. A daughter of George and Mary Belle Neff, she was born Jan. 10, 1898 in Hardin County, Kentucky. She married Noel E. Coffman on Dec. 17, 1918. He died Nov. 17, 1965. She was educated and for a time taught school in Kentucky. She was a member of Linden-Kirkpatrick United Methodist Church, WSCS and OES Chapter 244. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Grimes of Lafayette and Mrs. Gwendlyn C. Dobbs of West Lafayette; a grandson, Clark A. Dobbs, three granddaughters, Mrs. R. K. Nicewander of Akron and Nanette A. and Marjorie Sue Grimes of Lafayette, and a great-grandson, R. K. Nicewander Jr. Funeral services, with Rev. Dale M. Wilson the minister, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Linden-Kirkpatrick Church, where the body will lie in state beginning at 1 p.m. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Helms Funeral Chapel, where OES services will be conducted at 8 p.m. - - Linden - Last rites for Mrs. Genrose Coffman were held in the United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale M. Wilson officiating. The organist, Mrs. Betty Edward, played requested selections, "Abide With Me" and "Jesus Thou Joy of Loving Hearts." Pallbearers who also assisted with the floral tributes were Joseph W. Guinn of Lafayette, A. B. Coopman, Herbert Switser, Ralph Little, Lloyd Fausts and Oscar Burton Jr., all of Linden. Burial was in Linden Cemetery. Linden Chapter 244, Order of Eastern Star, also conducted services for Mrs. Coffman. Those participating were Margaret Barcus, Robert Royer, Evelyn Royer, Mary Guinn, Mary Harshman, Mary Winger, Sharon Pack and Phyllis Twitchell.
