ATTICA — Jesse Damon Cole, 66, 1848 E. U. S. Highway 41, Attica, died at 8:52 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000 in the V.A. Medical Center, Danville, Ill. He had been hospitalized since Dec. 26. He was born Oct. 11, 1934 in Oblong, Ill., the son of Jerry and Fern Perkins Cole. He married Ethel M. Heidenreich Aug. 11, 1956 in Abeline, Kan. She survives. He was raised in Kramer and attended Judyville and Kramer schools. He later lived in Santa Rosa, Calif. and moved back to Attica in 1969. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Army. He worked as a drywall installer and later worked for Waymire Construction. More recently he had worked as a welder for David Kaniewski. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3318 of Attica. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a daughter, Sue (Jim) Anderson, Attica; two brothers, Jerry Cole, Mesa, Ariz. and Lyle Cole, Miramar, Fla.; a grandson, J. D. (Dawn) Green; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Bradley Green. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Carson and a brother, Larry Keith Cole. Private family memorial gravesite services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with the Rev. Marcos Gilmore officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of arrangements.
