Newtown - Zella Fae Arter Coleman, 92, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday in Community Hospital in Williamsport. She had been ill four weeks. Born Aug 11, 1899 in Newtown, she lived most of her life in the Netown and Covington areas. She also lived in Lafayette, Wabash and Crawfordsville.  

She married Frederick H. Coleman Sr on Sept 6, 1919 in Newport. He died in 1985. Mrs. Coleman graduated from Covington HS and Indiana State University. She attended Indiana University. She was a former teacher of genealogy and a newspaper correspondent for Lafayette, Crawforsville, Attica and Danville, Ill. newspapers. She was a member of the former Presbyterian Church at Newtown which is now affiliated with the Newton Community Church. She was a member of DAR and the Music Club, a charter member of the Newton Study Club and member and past matron of Order of Eastern Star 282.

Surviving are three sons, Frederick H. Coleman, Jr. of RIdge Farm, Ill, RIchard A. Coleman of Homosassa, Fla and Robert D. Coleman at home; two daughters, Mary Josephine Coleman Bush of Newtown and J., Kathaleen Coleman Peevler of Mellott; a sister, Isabella Moore of Covington and a brother, Duncan E. Arter of Woodland Hills, Calif. - kbz

Visitation 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, where Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Sturday. Funeral service in the Maus Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Sunday the Rev. James Campbell officiating. Interment in Newtown Cemetery. Surviving 12 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren., Preceded in death by a grandchild, a great grandchild and her parents. Memorials to the Newtown Chapter Order of Eastern Star 282.
