Newtown, Ind. - Albert Colestock, 83, of Newtown, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (April 16, 1968) in St.been a patient a week (sic). Born Oct. 30, 1884 in Memphis, Tenn., he was a son of Henry and Jennie Dunning Colestock. He was married in 1905 to Pearl Doyle, who preceded him in death in 1929. He married Bessie George July 30, 1934. She preceded him in death in 1964. He also was preceded in death by a son. He is survived by a son, Dale of Centralia, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He had resided in Newtown 35 years where he operated the Colestock Variety Store. he was a member of the Yeddo Masonic Lodge, Knights of Pythias of Cates and the modern Woodmen. The body is at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Arthur Schenck, pastor of Newtown Methodist Church, and the Rev. George Phelps, pastor of the Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Baptist Cemetery, west of Newtown. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

Newtown - Albert Colestock, 83, a businessman here the last 35 years, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient a week. A native of Memphis, Tenn., he was a son of Henry and Jennie Dunning Colestock and was born Oct. 30, 1884. He was wed to Pearl Doyle in 1905. She died in 1929. On July 30, 1934 he was married to Bessie George, who died April 16, 1964. Surviving are a son, Dale of Centralia, Ill., and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Another son is deceased. Mr. Colestock owned and operated the Colestock Variety Store here, selling the business this spring. He was a member of the Yeddo Masonic Lodge, K. of P. Lodge at Cates and Modern Woodmen. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, where friends may call after 5 p.m. today. Revs. Arthur Schenck of the Methodist Church and George Phelps of the Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Baptist Cemetery west of Newtown.
