Flora, Ind. - Funeral rites for the Rev. Walter B. Collier, 80, retired Methodist minister, who died Friday in St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette, were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Columbus, Ind. Burial was in Garland Brook cemetery, Columbus. Death followed a heart attack. Born Nov. 7, 1877, in Bartholomew county to James and Elizabeth Bean Collier, he was married Sept. 5, 1900, to Minta Finkle. Surviving with the wife is a daughter, Mrs. Mable Cecrle, Lafayette. Since 1912, when he assumed his first charge at Brownsville, he had served churches at Waveland, New Market, North Judson, North Liberty, Argos, Veedersburg, Star City, Battle Ground and Camden. He retired in 1944. Prior to the rites at Columbus, services were held Sunday afternoon at the Flora Methodist church , with the Rev. F. Kaye Bass officiating.
