Therman (sic) Colson, age 59, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at his home at 920 Eighth St., Covington, after an illness of six months. Mr. Colson had lived in Covington the past three years, coming from Tangier. He had worked for he City Light and Water Department or seven years and he had been an electrician 20 years. He was born in Tangier June 5, 1907, the son of Elmer and Maude Cory Colson. He was married Aug. 8, 1928 to Kathleen Commons, who survives. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Kingman, Wallace Low 12 Club, Electrical Union Local 1393, and he attended the Covington Baptist Church. His wife is an elementary school teacher in Covington. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: one daughter, Mrs. Martha Smith of Earl Park, Ind.; one son, Larry of Cayuga; one brother, Howard of Hillsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Heath and Mrs. Elva Marks, both of Tangier, and Mrs. Madge Sherrill of Springfield, Mo.; one half-sister, Mrs. Lola Baugh of Lafayette, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Glenn Ray, pastor of the Covington Baptist Church, and the Rev. Ruth Isaacs officiated. Burial was in Rush Creek Cemetery.

Covington, Ind. - Therman Colson, 59, a resident of 920 8th, Covington, for the past three years, died at 6:30 a.m. yesterday (March 30, 1967) at his home. He had been ill six months and seriously ill a week. He had resided in the Tangier community for many years before moving to Covington. Born June 5, 1907, in Tangier, he was the son of Elmer and Maude Cory Colson. He was married Aug. 8, 1928, to Kathleen Commons, who survives. She is an elementary teacher in Covington. Mr. Colson had been an electrician and had been employed by the Covington Light and Water Co. for seven years. He was a member of the Kingman Masonic Lodge, Wallace Low 12 Club and EUW Union Local 1393. He had attended the Baptist Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Martha Smith of Earl park, Ind.; a son, Larry of Cayuga; a brother, Howard of Hillsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Heath and Mrs. Elva Marks, both of Tangier, and Mrs. Madge Sherrill of Springfield, Mo.; a half sister, Mrs. Lola Baugh of Lafayette; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hegg Funeral Home. The Rev. Glenn Ray will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ruth Issacs. Burial will be in Rush Creek Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after noon today.
