Pekin – Samuel L. Mead, 49, died at 5 p.m. Friday in a Peoria Hospital. The body was taken to Abts Mortuary where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. James E. Reynolds, pastor of the First Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin. Mr. Mead was born in Covington, Ind March 5, 1900 a son of William and Luella Foley Mead. Surviving are two sons, Paul and Samuel Jr. and one daughter, Mrs. Dean Adams, all of Indiana; one sister Mrs. Ruth Kline, Pekin. He was preceded in death by his wife. – kbz
