Horace W. "Bill" Meadows, 83, Veedersburg, died 3:30 a.m. Thursday in The Waters of Covington. Mr. Meadows was a retired farmer and laborer at Lee Company, Terre Haute. His memberships included New Century Christian Church. He was a 1937 Wallace HS graduate. He was born Aug 1, 1919 at Waynetown to Basil & Blanche Hatt Meadows. He married Olive E. Perrigo July 6, 1940 at Bardstown, Ky. She survives. Also surviving are a foster son, Fred Steele, Crawfordsville; two daughters, Sheila Garrett, Battle Ground and Charlotte Lowe, Williamsport, a brother, Palmer Meadows, Linden, three sisters, Lois Lewellen, Frankfort, Jewell F. Lucky, Woodstock, Ill and Ruth Hutchin or North Carolina; six grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Three brothers, four sisters and a grandson are deceased. Funeral services are schedule 2 p.m. Saturday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 S. Indiana 25, Waynetown with Rev. Joe Dodds officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz

VEEDERSBURG — Horace W. Meadows “Bill”, 83, of Veedersburg died at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002 at The Waters of Covington, in Covington. Meadows was born, August 1, 1919 to Basil Meadows and Blanche Hatt Meadows in Waynetown. He married Olive E. Perrigo Meadows of Veedersburg on July 6, 1940 in Bardstown, Ky. She survives. He is also survived by a foster son, Fred (wife: Shelia) Steele of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Shelia (husband: William) Garrett of Battle Ground and Charlotte (husband: James) Lowe Jr. of Williamsport. He is also survived by one brother, Palmer Meadows of Linden and three sisters: Lois Lewellen of Frankfort, Jewell E. Lucky of Woodstock, Ill. and Ruth Hutchin of North Carolina. Also surviving are six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and one grandson. He graduated from Wallace High School in 1937 and was a retired farmer and mill right at Lee Company in Terre Haute. He was a member of the New Century Christian Church. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. on Nov. 8 with services on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. in Waynetown officiated by Rev. Joe Dodds. Burial is at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown. – jlr
