Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Ted Means, 74, of 404 Baxter, Attica, died Sunday (June 21, 1970) at the family residence. He had been ill for sometime. Born in Valier, Pa., Nov. 5, 1895 he was the son of John and Sarah North Means. He was married March 4, 1924, at Cumberland, Md., to Kathryn Mattern. He had resided in Attica the past 46 years, coming here from Valier Pa. He attended teachers institute in Pennsylvania and taught school there one year. He was superintendent 18 years and office clerk 25 years for the Neal Gravel Co. where he was employed 43 years. Mr. Means was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Army. He was a member of Wabash Lodge 708, F and AM, of which he was past master. Surviving besides the widow are a son, Robert of Attica; a daughter, Mrs. David (Peggy) Benson of Attica Route 3; a brother Vernon Means of Indiana, Pa.; and eight grandchildren. Services Tuesday at the DeSutter Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Bachert officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery.   -- jlr
