Dan W. Simms, well known Lafayette attorney, representing Mary V. Meeker, administratrix of the estate of her husband, has been in Covington getting an order from the circuit court to sell the lands belonging to the estate, consisting of four tracts of land all in Fountain County, comprising about 600 acres. The sale will be held at the law office of Stuart, Simms & Stuart in Lafayette Monday Feb 14 and from day to day until all of the land is sold at cash for not less than 2/3 of the appraised value. Several large mortgages are against the land but these matters have all been adjusted and will be paid from the proceeds of the sale. The estate is one of the largest to be settled in the county in recent years.
