Newtown, Jan 16 – Mrs. Julia (McKnight) Meeker, 81, widow of Theodore Meeker, died of infirmities at 5:20 a.m. today at the home here of Mr. and Mrs. Wren Poffinberg where she was being cared for. Her parents, Linton and Margaret Marquess McKnight were pioneers here and Mrs. Meeker was the last of a family of 8 children. Her marriage took place Dec 15, 1874 and Mr. Meeker was burned to death in a dairy barn fire in 1914.  Two sons survive, Frank of Detroit and Orville of Frankfort. Another son Jacob was formerly a congressman from Missouri and died in 1918. She was a member of the Union Christian Church and OES.  The body was removed to the Coffing & Robinson Funeral parlors, Attica and will be returned at 1 p.m. Wednesday to the Union Christian Church to lie in state until the funeral at 2; burial in Union Cemetery. – kbz
