Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Charles L. Meharry, prominently known Attica citizen and a farmer known over the county, died at the hospital at Kankakee, Il., Saturday. He had been ill for over a week with double pneumonia. He was the son of Abraham and Martha Meharry and was born on a farm near Tolono, Ill., March 11, 1885. On June 24, 1908, he married Cora E. Burghardt, who with one daughter, Rachel Elizabeth Meharry, survives. In October, 1908, the family moved to Attica. Mr. Meharry proved an outstanding citizen of the community in business, social, fraternal and religious work. He served as president of the Attica Central National Bank and Trust Company, on the city council, and as a member of the board of education. As a farmer he was an advocate for soy bean raising and through these efforts became nationally known. The body was taken to the Meharry home at Tolono, Ill., Saturday afternoon. On Monday the remains were taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Stafford, east of Attica. Funeral services were held that afternoon, with burial at the Meharry cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
