Funeral services for E. M. Mendenhall, 89, father of Mrs. R. H. Wood of 706 Polk, Victoria, who died Sunday, will be held Thursday at the Fisher Funeral Home in Veedersburg, Ind. Mr. Mendenhall was born in Veedersburg in 1874. Other survivors are a daughter, Helen Mendenhall of Danville, Ill., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Veedersburg -- Embert Mendenhall, age 90, a retired farmer, was found dead at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at his home. He had been in failing health for sometime. The body was found by neighbors, Hardy Helms and William Grady. Mr. Mendenhall had resided on the same farm, five miles south of Veedersburg, where he was born on Aug. 15, 1873. He was the son of Ephriam and Amanda Sample Mendenhall. He was married to Myrtle Teegarden, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Prairie Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Helen Mendenhall, a nurse at Lakeview Memorial Hospital in Danville, and Mrs. Hazel Woods of Victoria, Tex.; and a cousin, Mrs. Idma Oiler of Veedersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Fishero Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry Hybarger will officiate. Interment will be in Bonebrake Cemetery south of here.
