Orval Mendenhall, son of the late Milton Mendenhall was born Sept. 30 1889 near Tangier and died Sept. 15 1907 at Indianapolis being 17 years, 11 months and 14 days old. He and his brother were both converted, baptized and joined the U. B. church at Fairview in 1901.  At the age of 15 years Orval received a fall from which he never recovered.   He was always a bright and cheerful boy, making friends wherever he went despite his afflictions.  During his last sickness he was patient and calm and bore his suffering like a man.  He leaves a widowed mother and one brother, now in the U.S. Navy but was privileged to beat his death bed when he passed beyond, he also leaves many relatives, school mates and friends who will miss his cheerful smile. Asleep in Jesus blessed sleep, from which none other waked to weep.  Funeral services were conducted from the Friends church in Tangier Tuesday Sept. 17th by Mrs. Minnie Thorp afterwhich the remains were laid to rest in Rushcreek cemetery. ā€“ thanks to ā€œSā€
