Ralph W. Mendenhall of Danville, Illinois, age 85, died Friday evening, January 28, in Colonial Manor Nursing Home at Danville. He was born at Ridge farm, Illinois, October 30, 1897, the son of Jonathan and Ella Gorman Mendenhall. June 11, 1922, he married Mabel L. Lyman, who died January 2, 1976. Mendenhall was a member of the Christian Church at Winter Haven, Florida and the Masonic Lodge and OES in Kansas City, Missouri. He was superintendent of steamfitters with Kellogg Construction Company until retiring in 1963.

  Surviving are a brother, Carl of Kingman; and three sisters, Charity Mailman of Danville, Lillian Hess of Georgetown, Illinois, and Minnie Propst of Franklin, Ohio.

  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Lakeside Funeral Chapel in Danville with Rev. Peggy Caldwell officiating. Burial was in GAR Cemetery at Watseka, Illinois. – thanks to S
