METSKER, Alvin Milton

Alvin Milton Metsker, 76, Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, a farmer and painter in the Elmdale neighborhood most of his life, died Monday morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He had been in failing health four years. Born Aug. 6, 1880, at Pine Village, Mr. Metsker was the son of Elmer E. and Minnie Hickman Metsker. He married Grace Cantrall Feb. 17, 1907. They began housekeeping in Otterbein. Mr. Metsker attended the Warren County schools. He had farmed in the Elmdale neighborhood most of his life. Surviving are the widow, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Boyer of Lafayette, and Mrs. Jordan Roberts of Attica. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, with burial at the Oakland Cemetery near Elmdale. Rev. John R. Servies will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
