Opal H. Miles, 96, New Richmond, died 4:10 p.m. Wednesday uat St. Clare Medical Center. Mrs. Miles was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the New Richmond area since 1939.  Her memberships included New Richmond United Methodist Church and women's society; and Order of Eastern Star 277, New Richmond. She attended Alamo School.

She was born Feb 22, 1907 at Urbana, Ill to Charles P and Christina G Gooding Burks. She married Gordon Eugene Miles April 24, 1926 at Covington.  He died June 25, 1983.  Survivors include a son, Donald, New Richmond; a sister, Margaret Baker, Wallace; 9 grandchildren' 16 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

A son, Merle died in 1981; and a daughter, Lois Goff in 2001.  A brother and three sisters are also deceased.  Funeral services are scheduled 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev. John Pettigrew officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the St. Clare Medical Center Mission Integration Fund, 1710 Lafayette Road, Crawfordsville, Ind 47933
