Waynetown—James Robert “Bob” Miller, 57, Route 4, Crawfordsville, died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 1989 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He had been a patient there five months.
  He was born Sept. 13, 1931 near New Richmond, in Montgomery County, the son of Clarence T. and Edith A. Hillenburg Miller. He was married Feb. 19, 1954 in Crawfordsville to Gwendolyn Burk, who survives. She is employed in the Medical Records department of Culver Union Hospital in Crawfordsville.
  He had lived in the New Richmond, Crawfordsville and Waynetown areas all of his life and graduated from Waynetown High School in 1949. He had been employed as a truck driver for the Montgomery County Highway Department since 1981. He had formerly farmed, was a bookkeeper for farm Bureau Co-op, Crawfordsville; worked at Skelton-Skinner Lumber Co., Linden, and was a foreman for 13 years at Life Time Gate in Crawfordsville.
  He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church, Crawfordsville. He enjoyed reading, sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, and attending flea markets.
  Surviving besides his wife are his mother of Crawfordsville; two sons, Michael A. (Karen), Crawfordsville, and James R., Route 4, Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Linda) Dennison and Martha Miller, both of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Hugh (Ruth) Detchon, Route 4, Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Mitton, Attica; five grandsons, Jason and Phillip Dennison and Ross, Jonathon and Brian Miller, and six nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dec. 14, 1962, and a nephew.
  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, Waynetown, with the Rev. Gerald Dooley and the Rev. Steven Overholdt officiating. Beth Fowler will play organ selections and Tom Kempf will sing “Amazing Grace”. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
  Those who will serve as pallbearers are Tom Kempt, Gary Ketchum, Mike Hart, Pete Miller, Steve Pierce and Harold Barclay.
  Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Thursday. -s
