Mrs. Laura Evelyn Miller of Mellott died at 1 o’clock Saturday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Blanch Breckweg, 602 North Ninth Street where she had been spending the winter. Mrs. Miller suffered a stroke early Wednesday. The body was removed to the Miller home in Mellott Saturday afternoon, and funeral services will be held there Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with interment in Green Lawn cemetery, Wingate. Mrs. Miller was born in Fountain County, Dec 7, 1860, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Peters.  May 16, 1880, she was married to Daniel F. Davis, to which union six children were born. Sept 22, 1907 she was married to JR Miller who died in 1933.  She had been a resident of Mellott 20 years and was a member of the Newtown ME Church.  Surviving are five children from the first marriage: Mrs. Verna Haxton, Mellott; Mrs. Raymond Parker, Linden; Harry C. Davis, Kansas City, Kan; John C. Davis, whereabouts unknown and Mrs. Breckweg; two sisters, Mrs. Jose Starnes, Hillsboro and Mrs. Clara Cadwell, Kansas with five brothers: Simon Peters, Houston, Idaho; Aust, William and Nathan Peters of Kansas and Emery Peters of Iowa.
