Veedersburg, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Margaret Shirley Miller, 79, died yesterday (July 5, 1966) at her home, 101 W. Seventh. Born March 10, 1887, in Sulpher Village, Ky., she was the daughter of John Carroll and Charlotte Peak Garriott. She moved to Danville with her family as a child. She attended Danville High and was society editor for many year for the Danville Morning Press. She was married Oct. 6, 1912, to Hugh Miller of Veedersburg. They have resided in Veedersburg since 1950. She was a member of the Christian Science Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise Mills of Veedersburg; a brother, John C. Garriott of Chicago; and three grandchildren. The body is at the Parham Funeral Home where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Christian Science services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, with cremation to follow. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery.  --typed by Walt W

Mrs. Margaret Sherley Miller, age 79, of Veedersburg, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient since Monday, July 4. She had been a patient in the Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington for one month. A native of Sulphur Village, Ky., she was born March 10, 1887, the daughter of John Carroll Garriott Sr. and Charlotte Peak Garriott. She moved to Danville, Ill., as a child and attended Danville High School. For a number of years she was society editor for the Danville Morning Press. Her marriage to F. Hugh Miller was Oct. 6, 1912, in Waukegan, Ill. The couple resided 34 years in Chicago, then moved to Michigan in semi-retirement prior to moving to Veedersburg in 1950. Mrs. Miller was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Attica. Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Louise Mills of Veedersburg; three grandchildren, Mrs. William Starkey of Veedersburg, and Bruce and Joyce Ellen Mills of Veedersburg; a brother, John C. Garriott Jr. of Chicago. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with a Christian Science reader officiating. Cremation will follow and burial will be in the Rockfield Cemetery, southeast of Veedersburg.  --typed by Walt W
