Attica - Services for Mildred M. Fenters Miller, 94, formerly of Attica, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Maus Funeral Home. She died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, in Pulaski Health Care Center. Born Oct. 8, 1910, in Attica, she was the daughter of Austin Leroy and Maude Mae Oland Fenters. She was married Oct. 4, 1936, in Attica, to George Eugene "Peelee" Miller, who preceded in death Feb. 14, 1992. Mildred was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1928. She formerly lived in Monticello and Warsaw, and lived in Attica for more than 70 years before moving to Winamac two years ago. Mildred worked first for the Attica Telephone Company for 23 years. She later worked as a bookkeeper for the Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica for 20 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1970. Following her retirement, she wintered several years in Texas. Mildred was a member of Attica First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Business and Professional Women and the Women's Literacy Club, both of Attica. She was an avid flower gardener. Surviving are nine nieces and nephews, Judith Troxel, Colorado Springs, Colo., Dr. James Fenters, Chicago, Dennis Fenters, Indianapolis, Michael Fenters, Lafayette, Mark Fenters, Perrysville, Mary Plummer, Royal Center, Alan Fenters, New Bremen, Ohio, Joe Miller, Millersburg, and Joann Klodzinski, Mishawaka; and one sister-in-law, Catheryn Fenters, Royal Center. One sister, Lillis Fenters Manssen, and two brothers, Dean and Oran Fenters, preceded in death. The Rev. G. Scott Pattison will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call from noon until time of services Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Attica First United Methodist Church.
