Kingman, Ind – Robert Lawrence Miller, 99, a former resident of Kingman Rt 1 passed away at Covington Manor Healthcare Center around 7:45 p.m. Monday Dec 11, 1989.  He had been a resident for several months.  He was born in Jackson Township, Fountain County June 6, 1890, son of Robert and Lear Myers Miller. On March 14, 1912, he married Lana Banta. She preceded him in death March 19, 1989, after having been married 77 years.  Mr. Miller was a farmer and had been employed at the Yeddo Grain Elevator as an operator until his retirement in 1955.  He was educated in Covington, Cain and Jackson Township schools. He was a member of Kingman Masonic Lodge 314 of which he was a member over 70 years, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and was a charter member of Wallace Order of Eastern Star, later transferring his membership to the Kingman OES 204.  Surviving: a daughter, Mrs. Hiram G (Margaret) Lindley of rural Kingman; one granddaughter, Mrs. David (Patti) Curts of Lafayette; one great grandson, Marc Curts of Indianapolis; nieces. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.  Services 1:30 p.m. EST Thursday at Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. Officiating: Kenneth Majors. Burial: Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
