Hillsboro - Mrs. Rose Wood Miller, 94 - year-old former teacher and widow of a former state school superintendent and head of Indianapolis city schools died at 1:18 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. She had been a patient five days since suffering a hip fracture in a fall at her home here. Mrs. Miller was born Sept 28, 1866 in this community, a daughter of L.W. and Almira Tyson Wood and married Charles F. Miller here Sept 7, 1892. He preceded her in death June 12, 1946. She was a member of the Central Methodist Church, Indianapolis. She attended Hillsboro schools in Fountain County, including Hillsboro and at Covington and in high schools at Kingman, Boswell and Napanee. Mr. and Mrs. Miller lived in Indianapolis while he was state superintendent and also head of the city school system. Surviving are a son, Dr. Douglas Miller of San Luis Obispo, Calif; a grandson, Bruce Miller, a sister, Mrs. H.J. Davidson of Hillsboro and two great grandchildren. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown where friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Ronald Carlson of Hillsboro Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Wood Miller, age 94, of Hillsboro, who died Tuesday, Aug. 1, in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville, were held at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown Thursday afternoon, Aug. 3. The Rev. Ronald Carlson officiated, with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Miller had been hospitalized five days after she fractured a hip in a fall on a porch at her home. Born Sept. 28, 1866, in Hillsboro, she was a daughter of L. W. and Almira Tyson Wood. She was married in 1892 to Charles F. Miller who preceded her in death in 1946. Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Covington Normal. She taught grade schools in Fountain County, Hillsboro and Covington and high schools at Kingman, Boswell and Napanee. Mrs. Miller resided in Indianapolis while her husband served as state superintendent of schools and also while he was city superintendent of schools in Indianapolis. Surviving are a son, Dr. Douglas Miller of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. H. J. Davidson of Hillsboro; a grandson Bruce Miller and two great-grandchildren.  --typed by Walt W
