BOSWELL, Ind. (CNS) – Harland L. “Butch” Minnick, 66 of 203 N Adams, Boswell, was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 24, 1973) at Lake View Memorial Hospital. He was stricken while attending a meeting at the Rossville American Legion Post. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born Aug. 30, 1906, in Stone Bluff, he was the son of Simon and Linnie Ludlow Minnick. He was married March 27, 1946, to Alice Shafer of Birdseye, Ind., who survives. Mr. Minnick had resided in Boswell for the past 23 years where he had operated a grocery. He also had worked as a meat cutter at the Grab-It-Here Stores. He was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church, Boswell Masonic Ladge 48 and Boswell American Legion Post. He was a veteran of World War II and was a graduate of Waynetown High. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Cynthia Helmerich of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Erwin of Waynetown and Mrs. Anna Marques of Veedersburg; and two grandsons. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Yuill-Shoemaker Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Thornton will officiate. Burial will be in the Boswell Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be by the Boswell American Legion Post. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday. – jlr
