Mrs. May Minnick, 69, 301 Vine St., Veedersburg, died at noon Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cooper of near Hillsboro where she had been visiting since Sunday. She had been in ill health several months. She was born at Veedersburg Nov. 18, 1896, the daughter of Charles and Laura Lowe Washburn. She was a life resident of Veedersburg. She was married to Charles Minnick, who preceded her in death. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Frances Roach, Attica; a son, Charles of Veedersburg, and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Smith, Lapel. Parham Funeral Home, Veedersburg, has charge of arrangements which are incomplete at this time.  --typed by Walt W


Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Veedersburg, Ind. (CNS) --- Mrs. May Minnick, 69, of 301 Vine, died at noon yesterday (Oct. 25, 1966) at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cooper near Hillsboro where she had been visiting since Sunday. She had been ill about a month. Born Nov. 18, 1896 in Veedersburg, she was the daughter of Charles and Laura Lowe Washburn and was a life resident of that community. She was married to Charles Minnick, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Charles of Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Roach of Attica, and a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Smith of Lapel. The body is at the Parham Funeral Home and friends will be received after 2 p.m. today. Services will be Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. E. V. Wamsley officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Prairie Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W

Veedersburg – Mrs. May Minnick, 70 of 301 Vine St, died at noon Tuesday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cooper near Hillsboro where she had been visiting since Sunday. She had been in failing health for some time.  A life resident of Veedersburg, she was the widow of Charles Minnick. Surviving are a son, Charles Jr. of Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Roach of Attica and a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Smith of Lapel.
