Stone Bluff - Death came Sunday afternoon, April 5 1936, to Samuel Fletcher Minick, 72 retired farmer, at home of his son, Arch Minick, with whom he had lived since the death of his wife three years ago. He had been ill several weeks. Mr. Minick was born in Fountain county Sept 24 1863, son of Simon and Prudence Boord Minick, pioneers of this community. He farmed in this locality until ill health compelled his retirement. surviving are four daughters, Mrs. W. W. Powers, Pioneer, Iowa; Mrs. Oscar Solomon, Kramer, Ind and Mrs. Alonzo Doss and Mrs. William Hoagland, Stone Bluff; four sons, Earl of Indianapolis, and Charles, Arch and Rutherford, Stone Bluff; one sister, Mrs. Alice Watkins, Danville, Ill.; 29 grandchildren, including Mrs. George Long, Attica. A grandson, James Willard Minick was killed last January in an auto accident. One brother and two sons also preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stone Bluff U. B. church. Burial was in Osborne Prairie Cemetery.   --Thanks so much to Betty D for this one :)
