Attica - Helen Marie Misner, 92, formerly of Attica who had been residing at the Covington Healthcare Center, Covington died at 7:40 p.m. Dec 10, 1993 at the center, Covington. She had been in failing health and a patient for the past 4 years. She was born at Stone Bluff June 2, 1901, the duaghter of Alva and Blanche Covault Taylor. She married Wilbur Misner Jan 13, 1923 at Covington. He preceded her in death July 24, 1957. She had resided in Attica since 1923 and had entered the nursing center in 1979. She attended Veedersburg school and had worked at the Cracker Barrel Grocery Store in Attica for 30 years. She was an active member of the Attica First United Methodist Church where she had taught SS for 45 years and sang in the church choir 55 years. She was a member of the Attica Chapter OES and Womens Literary Club. Other survivors include: two sisters, Dorothy VanPelt, Covington; Winifred Haas, Hillsboro; two brothers, Ross Taylor, Danville, Ill; Lowell Taylor, Attica and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and a brother. Funeral services were held at Attica First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. George Weister officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Maus Funeral Home, Attica was in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to Attica First United Methodist Church.
