MITCHELL, Artie Phipps

Source: Waveland Independent, May 22, 1903

Artie M. Phipps was b. Sept 2, 1876. She was married to Jesse O. MITCHELL Oct 1, 1896 and united with the UB church in 1897. She was stricken May 7, 1903 and passed fro this earth May 14. While her suffering was great and she was sorry to sever those earthly ties, she became resigned at the last to go. And she told those who were with her that she was going to heaven and all looked fair to her. She was the mother of 3 children two sons and a daughter. Little Ruby preceded her 13 months ago. She leaves a husband, father, mother, four brothers and four sisters, all of whom were present at the last except one sister, Kate who was in Kansas but arrived a few hours after she passed away. She also leaves a host of friends and relatives. Artie was an obedient daughter, a tender and affectionate sister and a loving wife and mother. While we will miss her and her husband and children will need her, the Father knows best and she is up there awaiting our coming where there will be no parting.
