Daniel L. Mitchell, 88, Newtown died 12:45 p.m. Sunday in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Mitchell owned and operated Mitchell Construction Company. His memberships included Newtown Community Church, Fern Chapter 194, Order of Eastern Star and Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 385 Free and Accepted Masons, both of Hillsboro. The life long Newtown resident was a 1933 Richland Township School graduate. He was born Sept 22, 1915, at Danville, Ill to Leslie K and Beaulah Hastings Mitchell. He married Helen marie Eichelberger Oct 13, 1936 west of Mellott. She died July 13, 2002. Surviving are two sons, David, Newtown and Bill, Attica; a brother, Willikam, Wingate; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A brother, Donell, is deceased. Graveside services and burial are scheduled 2 p.m. Wednesday in Waynetown masonic Cemetery with Pastor Mike Parks officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Community Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice. - kbz
