MITCHELL, Earl "Cherry"

VEEDERSBURG – Earl “Cherry” Mitchell, 69, 705 N. Sherman St., Veedersburg, died in his home this morning. He was a retired Fountain County Highway employe. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Veedersburg. Born at Veedersburg on March 28, 1907, he was the son of Orville and Florence Stonebraker Mitchell. He married Josephine Shoaf at Montezuma, Ind., on March 22, 1930. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Gary Mitchell of Rt. 4, Veedersburg; two daughters, Delilah Gunn and Donna McLean, both of Veedersburg; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, in Parham Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday.   – jlr
