MITCHELL, Effie Ladious Beaver - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Effie L. Mitchell, d/o Elijah & Mary E. Beaver, was b. near Wallace, Fountain Co in Feb 25, 1903. Here she grew to womanhood and Nov 13, 1920 she was united in marriage to Fred Mitchell and to this union one child was born, a son. In her girlhood days she attended the public schools and later Wallace HS. Some years ago she united with the Christian Church at Freedom and continued membership there to the end. Some time after her marriage she and her husband took up their home near Byron, in Parke Co, and here were surrounded with all that makes young life happy they were spending their happy married life. Almost without a moments notice she was stricken with that dreaded disease, pneumonia and while all was done for her that an attentive husband, a loving mother and father, other relatives, friends and physicians could do yet without avail for in the morning hours of Teusday, June 13th, she passed into the great beyond leaving to mourn, her husband, father, mother, three brothers, Orra E, of Wyoming; Charles A of Wallace and Delbert who resides with his father and mother, other relatives and a host of friends. She was an obedient daughter, a devoted wife and sister, a loving mother to her 7 months old son, a true friend, a Christian woman. Her life was one of cheerfulness and her effort was to make others happy and it was her hope to live that she might raise her baby. But it was not to be. She has paid all debts all must pay, but we will not say that she is dead. (poem). Funeral services on Thursday at Centennial Church near Yeddo were in charge of Rev. Mr. Smitthee of Bryon. I wish to thank all of my friend, neighbors and relatives for illness of my wife, and for their sympathy on her death. Fred Mitchell.

Mrs. Fred Mitchell, who has been seriously ill for several days with pneumonia died early on Monday morning. Her maiden name was Effie Beaver and her parents live W. of Wallace. She leaves a little son 7 months old. Fred Mitchell is the son of Jesse Mitchell.
